Navigating in a densely-populated city like Mexico City is not an easy task because of its overcrowded roads and public transport system. However, there are different modes of transportation which can make your navigation in Mexico’s capital city possible. Taxis are somewhat expensive, but indeed hassle-free for getting to the city center from the Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX), which is about 6 miles east of the Centro Histórico.

Mexico City's Metrobús is a cheap and efficient option to move around the city. These red and white buses operate in dedicated lanes along the Avenida de los Insurgentes. You will have to purchase a smartcard from vending machines in the Metro stations for riding on the buses.

The metro is yet another fastest way to get around the city. It’s fairly clean and affordable. The privately run green and grayish-white buses called Colectivos, also known as peseros or microbuses, running along major arteries like the Chapultepec Forest, Paseo de la Reforma and Avenida Juárez, are a slightly cheaper option than the Metrobús. Many popular tourist attractions can also be easily accessed by train or by one of the red double-decker Turibuses (Tourist Bus).
