Most of the international flights to Hawaii arrive at the main Honolulu International Airport (HNL), located on Oahu island. It is the busiest airport in the State of Hawaii. If you want to visit other islands then you will first of all need to take a connecting flight from HNL. If you are however taking flights to Hawaii but don’t land in HNL then your flight will arrive at Kahului Airport (OGG), located on Maui island. Many U.S. carriers, including Hawaiian Airlines, conduct direct flights services to Kahului Airport. The State of Hawaii has several other smaller airports as well on its different islands. If you want to take flights to Lanai from Honolulu then you will arrive at the Lanai Airport, which is only 10 minutes drive to Lanai City. The Hoolehua Airport, also called Molokai Airport, is located 6 miles from the island’s largest town Kaunakakai. There are two international airports in the Big Island – the Kona International Airport (KOA) in Kona island and the Hilo International Airport (ITO) in Hilo island. If you want to fly to Kauai then your flight will land at Lihue Airport (LIH), which is also served by direct flights from many U.S. destinations.
