American Airlines has announced it will be launching nonstop flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Auckland in October 2020.

The thrice weekly direct flights from DFW to Auckland, New Zealand’s most populous city on the North Island, will start from October 25 and continue till December 1. The airline will make it into a daily service from December 1 onwards.

The thrice-weekly 15-hour-long flight will depart from DFW at 10:30 pm and land at 7:40 am two days later based on New Zealand time. The return flight to DFW will however be of 13 hrs 30 min. The flight will be operated with the help of a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The tickets will be up for sale starting November 19, 2019.

American Airlines has also said that it will be adding a flight to Christchurch on the South Island in New Zealand from Los Angeles International Airport as well in October 2020.

The airline is aiming to provide direct connectivity from places such as Savannah, Louisville or Monterrey, Mexico, to New Zealand, which is a tourism hotspot for nature excursions and skiing.  

American Airlines will be entering into a codeshare agreement with Australian carrier Qantas to enable American travelers to continue their onward journey from Auckland to other destinations in Oceania and Asia.
